About UsBeckner & Associates, Inc. was established in 1989 by Patrick Beckner who has served as President of the company from its inception. Beckner & Associates, Inc. is a full service real estate company offering a wide range of Commercial Real Estate Services. It began as a pure brokerage company offering sales and leasing of commercial real estate. Primary emphasis was on the office, office warehouse or flex space and small retail. In response to client needs Beckner & Associates, Inc. has expanded into investment and development services as well as property management. Beckner & Associates, Inc. utilizes the latest technology to help its clients. Patrick G. Beckner Pat Beckner founded the company in 1989 and has served as its President from its inception. This is a second career for Mr. Beckner who started in the field of Education. He served as a math teacher, assistant principal, principal and assistant superintendent. He holds a BA in Mathematics, a MAT degree in Math Education, as well as a Ph.D. in Educational Administration. Upon leaving education, Mr. Beckner started his career in commercial real estate by serving as Executive Vice President for Matrix Realty in Kansas City where he supervised the property management and leasing departments. He subsequently left Matrix to become an office broker in Kansas City for Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate which is now known as CB Richard Ellis. After several years at Coldwell Banker, Mr. Beckner left to form Beckner & Associates, Inc. Mr. Beckner has been very active in his career. He has leased, sold, managed and developed properties. He has been involved in the development of 10 Sonic Restaurants, participated in the land assemblage for three Target Super Centers, and has leased or sold many millions of dollars worth of commercial real estate. He has also been directly responsible for the development of several office and industrial buildings and is currently developing a major shopping center. This diversity of experience allows Mr. Beckner to meet the varied needs of his clients. Mr. Beckner has been active in the Commercial Real Estate community. He is well known and respected by other practitioners. He has served as President of the Johnson County Commercial Division of the Board of Realtors after serving for several years on the board. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Johnson County Board of Realtors. Mr. Beckner is also unique in that he is a native of Kansas City. He was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas and has been a resident of Kansas City for all but two years of his life. This gives Mr. Beckner a unique understanding of the dynamics and growth of the community. Paul Byers Paul graduated from Rockhurst University with a BSBA in Finance/Economics. He began his career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Division of Bank Supervision and Structure as a Commercial Bank/Holding Company Inspector and later as a Commercial Bank Examiner. If that wasn't exciting enough, he ultimately served as a Staff Analyst in the Credit and Risk Management Division of the Federal Reserve, where he dealt exclusively with "problem" financial institutions. In this role, Paul worked with bank ownership and directorate monitoring the financial condition of the institution, while formulating workout solutions for the long-term health of the institution. Paul joined the entrepreneurial ranks establishing a successful local start-up business. He later sold the business to pursue an opportunity as a Commercial Real Estate Broker with Beckner & Associates. Paul currently specializes in sales and leasing of commercial real estate as both a tenant representative and listing agent. He also functions as a development consultant when existing construction doesn't suit the unique needs of a client. Bruce Ré
Bruce Ré is a Sales/Leasing Associate whose consultative approach to working with his clients has helped them to define their specific criteria and needs for space and building acquisitions. He has worked with economic development for cities, worked with retailers and small businesses and area and regional builders and developers.
Prior to his involvement in commercial real estate, Ré was President of Ré & Associates, Customer Focused Marketing, was the COO for Wilson Chapman Ré, a marketing agency, and the President of the Marketing Consortium. A graduate of the University of Kansas, Ré holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.
Ré currently serves on the Board of Directors for Heart to Heart International, a leading global humanitarian organization that works to improve health and to respond to the needs of disaster victims worldwide. Ré has also helped to found Project SOS, a twenty-year old charitable organization that provides school supplies to children in need. He has served as President of the Board and has directed the organization’s growth from 100 children to serving over 12,000 children each year. Kristen Block Kristen Block (Pat’s daughter) has over 10 years of experience in commercial real estate. Her career started in property management and she has managed both residential and commercial property. She worked for MC Real Estate in Kansas City prior to joining Beckner & Associates, Inc. For several years she managed multiple buildings for UMB Banks with direct responsibility for the corporate headquarters and tech center. She has also been active in the sales and leasing of commercial property in addition to property management.
